Kindred girls win big to earn Piatz 400th coaching win
Kindred, ND - The wins keep coming for the 3rd ranked Kindred girls basketball team (16-0), but Monday's latest victory was celebrated even more thanks to a milestone for head coach Perry Piatz.
The Vikings' 72-48 victory over Napoleon-Gackle-Streeter gave Piatz his 400th coaching win.
After the game, his players handed Piatz a sign that read "400" and their signatures on it.
Piatz said afterward, "To me it's just another win and I told the kids that. It's not about me. It's about the kids and us playing together as a team and that's what the fun part about it is. It also means that I've had a lot of great players in my 25 years of coaching."
Kindred senior Brooke Hiatt scored a game-high 18 points highlighted by her making 5 out of 5 three-point attempts in the third quarter.
