Patriot's day celebration brought to the metro
FARGO—Two locals are pushing to bring a colonial celebration to the metro.
In Massachusetts and Maine, Patriots Day commemorates the start of the Revolutionary War.
Clyde Allen and Jim Shaw want that celebration to be a national holiday, so they organized their own party here.
The two invited those who have roots in Massachusetts and Maine and even experts on the war.
They hope to spread knowledge about the day, because they say, not knowing does a disgrace for the people who lived through the war.
"There are so many people who don't know anything about it, and they don't know the history behind the day, I think they'd be disappointed about that," said Clyde Allen.
The party had flags, costumes, and of course a lot of tea.
