Former Fargo Police officer finds new opportunity after appealing firing
LISBON, N.D.—A former Fargo police officer who fought to appeal his firing now has a new job in law enforcement.
David Boelke has taken a part time position with the Ransom County.
Ransom County Sheriff Chris Sandvig says Boelke will join the department within a couple weeks.
Boelke was fired in August after being accused of not responding to service calls and later lying about it.
He disputed the charges and the state's Peace Officer Standards and Training Board voted 6-to-2 that he did not violate its code of conduct.
That vote allowed him to pursue another avenue in law enforcement.
Boelke says he's excited for new beginnings.
