METRO—The Cities of Fargo and Moorhead are trying to teach the metro good lifelong recycling habits.

Wednesday, people can participate in the "Day Without a Bag" Campaign as a part of 'America Recycles Day'.

Representatives from Fargo and Moorhead will be at Cash Wise grocery stores in both cities from 2 to 4 p.m.

People can bring in their plastic bags in exchange for reusable ones.

The goal is to start a conversation about plastic bag usage.

"Just to try to change the mindset of people and plastic bags take a really, really long time to decompose," said Jen Pickett, Recycling Coordinator.

The campaign is also trying to encourage people to use the bag take back programs and local stores.
