(WDAY/WDAZ News) - Morton County authorities are investigating reports involving a video our news team found showing shots fired.

The video, which people claim happened in Morton County Saturday morning shows pipeline protesters blocking the path of a utility truck.

Shortly after, the driver of the truck puts a handgun out the window.

He's then seen firing off about eight rounds a few moments later into the air, and protesters saw ammunition shells on the ground.

Morton County police say they're investigating the source of the video, to determine whether or not the shots fired took place in the area.

No one was arrested, but about 150 vehicles drove up onto Highway 6, some of them illegally blocking traffic.

The rapid succession of gunfire appears to match that of the unverified video we just showed you.
