Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) - Former Grand Forks Herald editor and publisher Mike Jacobs was honored during the University of North Dakota's commencement ceremony. He was the recipient of an honorary degree from the University of North Dakota. Jacobs, a 1970 graduate of UND, had a long and distinguished career with the Grand Forks Herald, starting as a reporter and ending his career as publisher. During his career, he won editor of the year from the National Press Foundation, and was editor of the Herald when it won the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service.
