WEST FARGO - The West Fargo boys basketball team has made what could be a difficult transition look easy, as they break in first year head coach Adam Palczewski. Palczewski coached J.V. previously and has been an assistant on the track and football teams so this familiar face for the players made the switch an easy one.
FARGO - The NDSU football team is gearing up for a familiar foe, as the Bison will host Sam Houston State on Friday, in the FCS semifinals. In 2014, the Bison faced the Bearkats in the semis, taking that game 35-3 on their way to a National Championship. Kickoff will be Friday at 7:00, in the Fargodome, televised on ESPN2.
CHICAGO—West Fargo senior quarterback Andy Gravdahl has been named Gatorade North Dakota Football Player of the Year after helping lead the Packers to the North Dakota Class 3A state championship. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Gravdahl passed for 2,265 yards and 22 touchdowns, leading the Packers to a 12-0 state championship season. He also rushed for 640 yards and 10 touchdowns on 69 carries. Gravdahl was named the Class 3A senior athlete of the year.
MANDAN - The Grand Forks Knightriders rallied after allowing an early goal in the first period on Saturday to beat Mandan. Responding with four goals of their own to earn the teams first road win of the season. Grand Forks will play next on December 16th, hosting Jamestown.
FARGO - The sound of a high school swim meet can reverberate the gym that you're in. From the cheering to the splashing into the pool, it's an extreme mix of sounds. Now imagine not being able to hear any of it. That's the case for Fargo North senior Isaiah Skiple. Skiple was born profoundly deaf. When he was six weeks old he was diagnosed, but that hasn't stopped him from doing what he loves.
WAUBUN, MN - It was a special night in Waubun, on Friday, as the Mahnomen/Waubun Thunderbirds competed in their first game as a co-op. While the boys came up short in their season opener 94-65 to Cass-Lake Bena, this night will always be remember as the start of something new. WDAY- TV - Abby Promersberger scored four goals to help lift Fargo North-South to a 15-0 victory over Jamestown in girls high school hockey. While Davies opened the season with a big win over last years runner up Grand Forks 4-2 at home. North-South will have Mandan next and Davies will host Bismarck.
MOORHEAD - It was a historic season for Concordia's Chad Johnson and he was rewarded for his performance by being named the MIAC's MVP Tuesday. Johnson finished 2017 with 1262 yards and 17 touchdowns, he totalled 42 in his career which is a Cobber record, he's now the school's second all-time leading rusher. He's just the third Cobber to win the award since 1990.
WDAY-TV - MSUM men's basketball coach Chad Walthall talks Dragons vs. Cobbers rivalry, start of season, Freshman class, depth and more. MSUM is 3-1 on the season, they play next against Drury on November 24th in Springfield, Missouri.
