ST PAUL - It was a rematch Saturday in the Class AA Championship, as Roseau went for back-to-back titles against Sauk Centre. Sauk Centre had not lost since last year's title game against the Rams and played like it, the Mainstreeters jumped out to a 21 point lead early in the 2nd half. But the Rams clawed their way back to a one possession game late, only to come up short as Sauk Centre was clutch at the free-throw line. Sauk Centre 63, Roseau 52.
WDAY-TV -The USA hockey national development program released it's evaluation camp roster on Wednesday. UND commits and local products Tyler Kleven of Davies and Jackson Kunz of Red River were invited on to the exclusive evaluation camp. The camp beings in late March.
PERHAM - The Perham boys basketball team has been the talk of Minnesota high school basketball in the northwest part of the state for the last two months. The Yellowjackets are the last unbeaten team in the state, at 29-0 and stand just a win away from the school's first trip to the state tournament in five years. But for the team, they're not talking about avoiding a loss, but rather winning one more game. Perham has lost in the section final each of the last two years, including to Breckenridge, the team they'll play for the title on Thursday night.
FARGO - Head coach of West Fargo, Adam Palczewski and head coach of West Fargo Sheyenne Tom Kirchoffner talk with Dom Izzo before Friday's semifinal bout. The Mustangs beat West Fargo in the EDC semifinals, but the Packers took both regular season games this year.

GRAND FORKS - UND will open up it's third series with Omaha on Friday in the NCHC playoffs. The Fighting Hawks split both regular season series with the Mavericks and feel they're ready for what they bring to the table.
MOORHEAD - The MSUM women's basketball team has a chip on its shoulder as it heads into NCAA Regional play. The Dragons have not forgotten their shortcomings from a year ago, as they sat in the same situation, against the same team. Last year they lost to Central Missouri 56-45, in one of their more disappointing offensive performances of the season. This year they get another crack at Central Missouri but expect a lot more from themselves.
MOORHEAD - It was the quarterfinals of the Section 8AA girls basketball tournament in Memorial Auditorium on the campus of Concordia College Saturday. Barnesville knocked off Hawley 48-33 to advance. Defending state champs Roseau cruised past Park Rapids Area 81-46, they'll face Barnesville on Tuesday, March 6th. Other side of the bracket had D-G-F taking down Breckenridge 73-52. Rebels get East Grand Forks in the semifinals, the Green Wave beat Perham 46-43.
FARGO - The NDSU men's basketball team hasn't seen all the success it wanted this season, but March is a fresh slate as they prepare for round 1 of the Summit League tournament. NDSU is slotted as the 5 seed which pits them against 4 seed Fort Wayne a team that has beaten the Bison in both contests this year. But head coach David Richman is encouraged by the Bison's last game of the regular season against Omaha.
