WATFORD CITY, N.D. – Several people were taken by ambulance to a Watford City hospital over the weekend after being overcome by fumes in the pool area of a hotel. City police and emergency responders were called to the pool area of the Little Missouri Inn & Suites at 9:50 a.m. Saturday in response to a 911 call of a child being ill.
MINOT, N.D. -- State Rep. Roscoe Streyle, R-Minot, has announced he will not seek re-election in November. Streyle was elected to the North Dakota House in November 2010 from District 3 and has served on the Appropriations Committee since the 2013 session. Streyle, a banker, said he feels satisfied with what he has been able to contribute during his two terms.
MINOT, N.D. -- The weekly U.S. Drought Monitor issued for North Dakota Thursday, March 8, shows the snowstorms in recent weeks have helped the drought, but the region remains very dry. The heaviest snowfall from this week’s storm occurred in parts of eastern North Dakota, particularly the southeast. It is in those locations where the Drought Monitor map shows improvement in dry conditions.
MINOT, N.D. -- Police are still looking for a suspect or suspects in the the shooting of an 18-year-old who remains hospitalized as a result of gunshot wounds sustained in what officers describe as an "illegal narcotics transaction." The incident was reported to police at 6:23 p.m. Wednesday when a 911 call resulted in an ambulance being sent to a northwest city residence for a report of a male who had been shot.
MINOT, N.D. - A 25-year-old Minot man is accused of spray painting obscene graffiti critical of the police at different locations in Minot in November 2017. Kevin Marcel Conti is charged in district court in Minot with criminal mischief, a Class C felony. According to the probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Minot police investigated multiple incidents of graffiti on downtown parking garages and other buildings last fall.
MINOT, N.D. -- They're names are Priya and Sisco and they're a year old this month. They're the two young camels who recently arrived at Roosevelt Park Zoo in Minot. The two young camels replace the zoo's two former camels who died last year. Red River Zoo in Fargo announced the birth of a female Bactrian camel last spring. At the same time, it was announced the little one would be moving to Roosevelt Park Zoo when she was older.
MINOT, N.D. -- A father told his daughter to return about $2,000 in ice fishing equipment, and she tried, but she still faces charges for possession of stolen property. Seth Dorscher, 23, and Carli Boyko, 25, both were arrested on Sunday, March 4, after they tried to return the items they stole.
MINOT, N.D. -- A 38-year-old Minot woman was sentenced to community service and ordered to write a letter of apology for coming home drunk last Nov. 14 and trespassing at one neighbor's residence and trying to break into the residence of another neighbor in southeast Minot.
MINOT, N.D. -- Accused murderer Bradley Joe Morales is now unhappy with his third defense attorney. Morales, 27, pleaded not guilty at a hearing last week to the stabbing death of his ex-girlfriend, Sharmaine Leake, 25, in August 2017. He was represented at the hearing by Steven Mottinger.
MINOT, N.D. — The North Dakota State Fair has released its grandstand entertainment lineup for the 2018 fair, July 20-28. Florida Georgia Line, Dierks Bentley, Nickelback, Cole Swindell, Kip Moore, Cheap Trick and Michael Ray will all perform at the 2018 North Dakota State Fair. Tickets will go on sale on March 16 at 8 a.m.
