PRESTON, Idaho - Robert Crosland, a science teacher at Preston Junior High School, is currently under investigation after allegedly feeding a puppy to a snapping turtle in front of students. Preston School District 201 Superintendent Marc Gee addressed the incident as “a regrettable circumstance involving some of the biological specimens” which was reported to his administration on March 7.
An incident took place this week on a United Airlines flight that resulted in a dog dying after a flight attendant ordered the owner to put the animal in an overhead bin.

ALABASTER, Ala. - Charlie Stephenson gazed out her window one day in late January and spotted a peculiar bird in her backyard feeder. Stephenson, an avid bird watcher, realized it was a cardinal sporting bright yellow feathers instead of the usual red hues. Stephenson posted a photo of the bird on Facebook, which was shared widely as bird watchers frenzied over what is now being called the “one in a million yellow cardinal.” Nearly a month later, Stephenson says the yellow cardinal is still around.
BISMARCK- A 24-year-old Brazilian woman has been sentenced to about three years in federal prison for operating a vehicle while drunk, hitting a tree, and killing a passenger in a small town in northwest North Dakota. Paula Cardoso was sentenced for her conviction on involuntary manslaughter Tuesday, Feb. 13, by U.S. District Judge Daniel Hovland in Bismarck.
