DILWORTH—A 47-year-old Dilworth man was severely beaten early Saturday, Aug. 11, after pulling over off Highway 10 near the Pizza Ranch by assailants who also robbed him. Neale Johnson came upon a man and a woman who beat him, his stepson said Sunday. "They beat him and left him for dead," said Miclo Richard Carrilllo. "He's not in the best condition," but was expected to be released Sunday from Sanford Medical Center, Carrillo said.
FARGO – Police are on the lookout for a man who robbed a Fargo hotel at gunpoint Sunday evening, Aug. 12. At about 9:15 p.m., a man entered the Quality Inn at 1407 35th St. S. and threatened the clerk with a handgun, according to Fargo police. The man took money from the register and fled. The West Fargo Police Department helped with a police dog search, but the suspect was not found, police said.
NEW ORLEANS—New Orleans Saints executive vice president/general manager Mickey Loomis announced Sunday that the team signed former North Dakota State cornerback Marcus Williams. Williams was originally drafted by the Houston Texans following the 2014 NFL Draft. The 5-foot-11, 196-pound Minneapolis native has appeared in 49 career games with 14 starts with the New York Jets (2014-17) and Texans (2017).
DEVILS LAKE, N.D.—A 69-year-old driver was injured late Saturday, Aug. 11, in a rollover accident on a rural road near here. Dennis Clemenson of Devils Lake was driving westbound on 48th Street N.E. when he left the road and entered the ditch, according to Sgt. Robert Kennedy of the North Dakota Highway Patrol. Clemenson's vehicle turned over, coming to rest on its roof, Kennedy said in a report. Kennedy, who was wearing a seatbelt, had unspecified injuries.
WESTFIELD, Ind. -- Iowa starting pitcher Brody Watson pitched five-plus solid innings to help lead his team to a 7-4 victory against the Fargo Little League team Saturday to win the Midwest Regional Championship. Iowa advanced to the Little League World Series, which starts Aug. 16 in Williamsport, Pa. “It’s a tough one. It stings a little bit,” Fargo manager Mike Rerick said. “We ran into a hot pitcher. That guy was lights out from the first inning on. He was tough to hit.”

The North Dakota Department of Health is urging residents, particularly ones with respiratory conditions, to think about limiting prolonged periods spent outdoors.
FARGO — Sheyenne Street will be closed to traffic underneath the Interstate 94 bridges from 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, until 6 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, so crews can finish bridge work. By the morning rush hour on Friday, both directions of Sheyenne Street underneath the I-94 bridges will be open to drivers and current work zone traffic patterns will resume.
