BRECKENRIDGE, Minn. – A blaze destroyed an apartment building here Friday, Feb. 16, displacing four families. Fire crews were dispatched about 8:40 a.m. to 311 5th St. S., a two-story building with four units. Police Chief Kris Karlgaard said when crews arrived, three residents were still inside and firefighters helped them escape the burning building.
AUDUBON, Minn. – Two semis collided Friday morning, Feb. 16, on U.S. Highway 10 between Audubon and Lake Park, causing eastbound lanes to close for several hours. Shortly after 3:30 p.m., the eastbound lanes were reopened, according to Sgt. Jesse Grabow of the Minnesota State Patrol.
FARGO — Two high-risk sex offenders have new addresses in Fargo, city police announced Friday, Feb. 16. Richard Carsten Haugen, 60, is living at 1122 2nd Ave. S., Apt. 8, according to police. Haugen was convicted in Cass County District Court of gross sexual imposition in November 2016. The victim was a 10-year-old girl that he knew. Michael Allen Jans, 28, is living at 734 College St. N., police said. Jans was convicted in May 2010 of gross sexual imposition in Burleigh County District Court. The victims were three 14-year-old girls.

FARGO – Police are notifying residents that a high-risk sex offender has moved to north Fargo. A Thursday, Feb. 15, post to the Fargo Police Department’s Facebook page said Donald Robert Edwardson, 45, now lives at 726 College St. N., which is a home operated by Redemption Road Ministries. Edwardson has three criminal sexual conduct convictions in Minnesota, according to police.
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – Two pedestrians here were taken to a Fargo hospital with injuries Wednesday evening, Feb. 14, after a pickup struck them at an intersection, police said. The two pedestrians, identified as 54-year-old Susan Holmer and 67-year-old Steven Lorentzen, were brought to Essentia Health St. Mary’s in Detroit Lakes and were then taken to Essentia Health in Fargo. Holmer was in critical condition Thursday, Feb. 15, and Lorentzen was in good condition, an Essentia spokesperson said.
