BISMARCK — The environmental group Greenpeace asked a federal judge Wednesday, Nov. 29, to dismiss a "meritless" lawsuit brought by the developer of the Dakota Access Pipeline. The lawsuit, filed by Energy Transfer Partners in August, argued Greenpeace and other groups facilitated crimes to interfere with the oil pipeline's construction. Dakota Access was the subject of months of protests before it went into service this summer.
CASS COUNTY, Minn. — Three individuals wanted in connection with an ongoing homicide investigation have been located by authorities. The Cass County Sheriff's Office shared on its Facebook page the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 28, that three people are in custody and cooperating with an investigation surrounding a fatal shooting Sunday, Nov. 12, in Cass Lake, Minn.
MITCHELL, S.D.—A Minnesota man pleaded guilty Tuesday, Nov. 28, to entering a woman's home and stabbing her with a pair of scissors. Eustace Miles, 49, of Moorhead pleaded guilty at the Davison County Public Safety Center to aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon. A sentence hearing is scheduled for Jan. 23. According to court documents, on July 17, 2016, Miles entered a Mitchell residence and confronted a woman while she was in the shower.
BISMARCK — The North Dakota Supreme Court upheld a lower court decision Monday, Nov. 27, to deny a request for post-conviction relief for a Fargo man who pleaded guilty to murdering his wife in 2013.

FLORIDA—A Minnesota man who is wanted for federal drug charges led police on a high-speed chase this weekend in Florida. Authorities say the man responsible has an arrest warrant issued from Moorhead. Thirty-five-year-old Ryan Swartley from Park Rapids is being held on a charge of aggravated fleeing, possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He is also charged with violating probation after leading police on a pursuit through Panama City Beach on Saturday. Authorities say the speeds reached over 90 miles an hour.

JAMESTOWN, N.D. -- A 24-year-old Jamestown man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly brandishing a gun in the parking lot of the Walmart Supercenter.
BEMIDJI, Minn. -- A 23-year-old man from Swatara was killed in a snowmobile crash early Thursday morning, Nov. 23. When deputies arrived on scene following a report of the crash at 6:05 a.m., they learned Jeremy Joseph Gindele, 23, had already been transported to a rural residence. He was pronounced dead at the residence. Investigators said Gindele was riding a 2007 Ski-Doo 600 Renegade in a field when he lost control of the sled, throwing him off the snowmobile, the release said.
U.S. Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., faces new allegations of sexual assault after two unnamed women have come forward accusing Franken of grabbing their buttocks on separate occasions, the Huffington Post and Star Tribune is reporting.
