ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Patty and Jerry Wetterling have sued the Stearns County Attorney and Stearns County Sheriff, seeking to block the release of certain documents in the investigative file into their son Jacob's kidnapping and murder. The investigative file was scheduled to be released Monday, June 5. But on Friday afternoon the county released a statement saying the Wetterling investigation materials will not be released Monday, due to pending litigation. The Wetterlings are asking a judge to review, and potentially block the release of, certain documents.

MINNEAPOLIS — A man named as a person of interest in the 1989 disappearance of Jacob Wetterling pleaded not guilty Monday to 25 federal charges accusing him of possessing and receiving child pornography. Danny James Heinrich, 52, made a brief appearance in U.S. District Court to enter his not guilty pleas. His trial on the pornography charges is scheduled for July 11.
