The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is asking for assistance finding a driver who struck and injured a 91-year-old man in Brandon on Tuesday, Jan. 30. According to a media release, at 9:53 p.m., the sheriff's office received a call of an elderly man in the roadway and bleeding from the head. The caller had swerved to avoid the man. Deputies arrived and found the victim lying on South Central Avenue. He had numerous injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle.
PARKERS PRAIRIE, Minn. — It was Oct. 8, 2013, when two women — strangers at the time — received the phone calls they had been waiting for. From her home in Alexandria, Nikita Nash answered the phone, already knowing what the caller would say. She was told that her 6-month-old son, Lucas, had been taken into surgery to have his organs removed and prepared for donation.

ALEXANDRIA, Minn. - On Sunday, May 29, at approximately 12:48 a.m., the Alexandria Police Department responded to a call involving a 31-year-old male from Glenwood who was down and seizing after a fight broke out at Legion Park in Alexandria. The man had apparent head trauma and was transported by North Memorial Ambulance to the Douglas County Hospital Emergency Room, where he was later pronounced dead.
