The Democrat spoke with the Minneapolis Star Tribune on Sunday, marking his first interview since being swept into a nationwide tide of sexual harassment allegations.
EGYPT (AP) - Egyptian state news agency MENA is reporting that the death toll from an attack on a mosque in the volatile northern Sinai Peninsula has risen to 235 people killed.
AMHERST, S.D. (AP) - TransCanada Corp. says it has recovered more than 24,000 gallons of oil from the site of a pipeline leak discovered last week in South Dakota. The company said 24,450 gallons of oil had been recovered as of Wednesday. TransCanada's Keystone pipeline leaked an estimated 210,000 gallons of oil on agricultural land in Marshall County, South Dakota. The company says there are roughly 170 people on-site working on cleanup and remediation.
(AP) Authorities say seven people have been hurt in an early morning shooting at a nightclub in Gary, Indiana. Authoritiess described most victims in the Sunday morning shooting in the northern Indiana city as being in stable condition. They said one victim was taken to a Chicago hospital with more serious injuries. Police found four male and three female victims at Dirtty's Jazz and Blues Club. An eighth person hurt his leg while trying to get to safety. Police said one man involved in the shooting is in custody and officers are seeking another.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Drivers in North Dakota are paying an average of 26 cents more for a gallon of gas than a year ago. The AAA says the statewide average price is currently $2.48. Rising oil prices are inflating pump prices, which typically have dropped when school starts at the end of summer and families aren't vacationing. AAA says demand for gas is expected to drop as winter sets in. Average gas prices are highest in the Bismarck metro area at $2.52, then Grand Forks metro at $2.51 and Fargo at $2.33.
MINOT, N.D. (AP) - A Minot man has been sentenced to a day in jail and two years of probation for withdrawing money without permission from the account of a resident at the Kalix facility that serves people with developmental disabilities. It's reported that 25-year-old Tre Davis pleaded guilty to a felony charge of unauthorized use of personal identifying information for the July 2016 incident.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Police in North Dakota have arrested a man for possession of drugs after first spotting him attempting to light a cigarette with the nozzle of a gas pump. The Bismarck Tribune reports that 29-year-old Skyler Whitebull, of Cannon Ball, was spotted by Bismarck police driving by the gas station. Authorities say Whitebull refused to put the nozzle back and took a "fighting stance" when an officer tried to stop him.
AUBURN, Wash. (AP) - Police have arrested rapper Nelly after a woman said he raped her in a town outside Seattle, an accusation the Grammy winner's attorney staunchly denies. Auburn police spokesman Commander Steve Stocker said officers arrested Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Iral Haynes Jr., early Saturday morning in his tour bus at a Walmart. Nelly is scheduled to perform in Ridgefield, Washington, on Saturday night. Nelly's attorney, Scott Rosenblum, said the allegation was false and motivated by "greed and vindictiveness."
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - An environmental activist is due to stand trial for targeting an oil pipeline in North Dakota as part of a broader effort to draw attention to climate change. Michael Foster's trial is scheduled to start Monday in Pembina County. He was among 11 activists arrested when they tried to shut down pipelines in North Dakota, Minnesota, Montana and Washington state last October.
MONTICELLO, Minn. (AP) - Six people aboard an Air Force Reserve bus were hurt when a semitrailer collided with the bus on Interstate 94 in central Minnesota. Spokesman Paul Zadach with the 934th Air Lift Wing in Minneapolis says the bus was on its way to a training site near Fargo, North Dakota, when the semi apparently rear-ended it around noon Thursday near Monticello.
