In a pinch: Renner shining in new role for NDSU softball
FARGO - When the NDSU softball team returns to the NCAA Tournament Friday night in Arizona, the spotlight will most likely be on softball stars Jacquelyn Sertic or the power hitting first baseman Vanessa Anderson.
However the Bison wouldn't even be playing without the heroics of Dani Renner, a fifth year senior, who doesn't start.
Renner is NDSU's go to pinch hitter, and she delivered in a big time last weekend at the Summit League Touranment, including a game breaking three run homer in the title game.
It's a role she's gotten used to.
