Manson picks UND, becomes first college commit for Sheyenne girls basketball

WEST FARGO—West Fargo Sheyenne junior Maggie Manson committed to play basketball at the University of North Dakota she announced on her Twitter account Saturday, Sept. 9. Manson is the first college commitment at any level for the Sheyenne girls basketball program.

"Super excited to announce my commitment to continue my education and basketball career at the University of North Dakota #GoHawks" Manson wrote on her Twitter page.

As a sophomore last season, Manson led the state in 3-pointers made with 50 at a pace of 2.8 per game, tied for second in the state and led the Eastern Dakota Conference with 4.4 assists per game and was fourth in the state with a 79.2 free-throw percentage. The 5-foot-8 guard was also eighth in the EDC with 14.3 points per game and 10th in the EDC with 2.8 steals per game.

Manson was also a Class A all-state golfer last season and is third in the EDC so far this golf season with a 83 per round average.
