NDSU's DeLuca and Kuhnert named 1st team AP All-Americans

FARGO—North Dakota State linebacker Nick DeLuca and right guard Austin Kuhnert were named to the Associated Press FCS All-America first team by a national panel of sports writers.

DeLuca, a senior from Omaha, leads NDSU with 61 tackles and is second on the team with 9 tackles for loss. DeLuca ranks 10th in NDSU history with 316 career tackles and fifth with 150 solo tackles.

Kuhnert, a senior from Sioux Falls, S.D., has started 49 games and played 53 of 58 possible games in four years at three different positions on the offensive line. He led the Bison during the regular season with an 86 percent technique grade.

The Bison host Sam Houston State in a 7 p.m. Friday FCS semifinal game that will be televised on ESPN2. The winner advances to the Jan. 6 national championship game in Frisco, Texas.

Domenic is the Sports Director at WDAY. He comes to Fargo from WNCE-TV in Glens Falls, NY where he launched the sports department at the independent station. Before that, Domenic worked at WSTM, the NBC affiliate in Syracuse, NY as a photographer and live truck operator for over two years. He graduated from Oswego State University in 2002 with a degree in Broadcasting. Domenic hails from the lake effect snow capital of the world, Oswego, NY, he joined the WDAY Sports Department in September 2006.
