MOORHEAD - The Minnesota State University Moorhead football team opened the 2017 season with a resounding 38-7 win at Augustana Saturday.

The team couldn't even enjoy the traditional 24 hour victory period. The Dragons were right back on the practice field Sunday night, preparing for Thursday night's home opener with Southwest Minnesota State.

MSUM will play on a Thursday night for the third straight year, but this is the first time it's not the season opener.

The Dragons are expecting a festive atmosphere for fans and some NFL scouts in attendance, all to watch Dragon superstar wide receiver Damon Gibson.

Kickoff is set for 7 Thursday against the Mustangs.
