FARGO—The RedHawks ninth-inning rally came up just short Saturday, as they lost 5-4 to the Wichita Wingnuts at Newman Outdoor Field in American Association play.

Devan Ahart drove in Brennan Metzger in the bottom of the ninth and Maikol Gonzalez then scored on a wild pitch, cutting it to 5-4. Keury De La Cruz grounded out and Leobaldo Pina then struck out to end the game. Gonzalez, De La Cruz and Tim Colwell each had an RBI for the RedHawks, who fell to 17-16 overall.

The series wraps up at 1 p.m. Sunday at Newman Outdoor Field.
