Twins part ways with Trevor Plouffe
Minneapolis, MN - The new management team of the Minnesota Twins made a big move on Friday, releasing starting third baseman Trevor Plouffe.
Plouffe had been the team's regular third baseman since 2012, hitting 96 home runs as a Twin.
His 2016 was one to forget, playing just 84 games because of injuries.
He was due $7.5 million this upcoming season.
This move opens the door for Miguel Sano to take over full time there in 2017.
