Pine to Palm field trimmed to 16
DETROIT LAKES - The Pine to Palm has been a tradition in Detroit Lakes for 85 years.
In the championship matches, the field was trimmed to 16 Friday afternoon.
Brennan Hockman kept his cindrealla story going. Entering match play as the 60th seed, Hockman beat Jack Holmgren 1 up to advance to the round of 16.
Former South standout Coy Papachek also moved on beating Cody Christensen 1 up.
The top seed Nick Myhre continued his strong play on Friday. Myhre beat Ben Hauge three and two to advance.
Chris Swenson, the 31st seed, knocked off the second seeded Noah Lawson five and four.
The round of 16 is scheduled to get underway at 7:18 in morning Saturday.
