RedHawks rally against St. Paul for 15th win in last 16 games
ST. PAUL — Josh Mazzola, Charlie Valerio and Brandon Tierney each belted home runs to help the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks rally for a 6-5 victory against the St. Paul Saints on Friday in American Association baseball at CHS Field.
The RedHawks (40-29) scored three runs in the seventh inning and added one in the eighth to come back from a 5-2 deficit. Mazzola hit a solo home run in the seventh and Tierney added a two-run blast to cap the rally and tie the score at 5-5.
K.D. Kang plated to go-ahead run in the eighth inning, drawing a bases-loaded walk to give F-M a 6-5 lead. Will Dennis, Trey McNutt and Casey Weathers combined to pitch four innings of hitless and scoreless relief to help the RedHawks rally. Weathers earned his 14th save.
The RedHawks have won 15 of their past 16 games.
