Woodside heads to Las Vegas for NBA summer league

Fargo, ND (WDAY Sports) - Ben Woodside is hoping for a profitable week in Las Vegas, but it won't have anything to do with a blackjack table.

He's joining the Timberwolves youngsters for the NBA summer league. Most of the players will be looking to shoot every chance they get to impress their new team or some other squad.

Since Woodside is hoping to catch on with someone at the point guard position, he'll need to pass a whole lot, too.

"I'm going to have to knock down an open shot but there will be a lot of guys out there who will be lottery picks so if I get the ball I'm going to create for others, I'm going to show that I can distribute to people, get others open because there's veterans that are going to knock down shots all day long."

Woodside will have to make the most of his minutes. There are two other point guards on the team.
