New Bike Lanes in Fargo
The following is a list of streets that will be getting on-street bike facilities on them this summer, whether the facilities are a Wide Outside Lane (WOL), share the road stencils (SHARROWS), or striped 5’ or 6’ bike lanes:
1. 12th Avenue N – 9th Street to Elm Street –new 2-lane road section with striped 5’ on-street bike lanes.
2. 5th Street – 13th Ave S to 24th Ave S – new 2-lane road section with Sharrows.
3. 24th Ave S – 5th St to 9th St – new 2-lane road section with Sharrows.
4. 9th St – 24th Ave S to 26th Ave S – new 2-lane road section with Sharrows.
5. 26th Ave S – 9th St to 11th St – 2-lane road section with Sharrows.
6. 11th St – 26th Ave S to 30th Ave S – 2-lane road section with Sharrows.
7. 30th Ave S – 11th St to University Drive – 2-lane road section with Sharrows.
8. 7th Ave N – 38/39th St to 45th St – new 3-lane section with Wide Outside Lanes.
9. 1st Ave N – 25th St to University Drive – new 3-lane section with Wide Outside Lanes.
10. 9th Avenue S – 42nd St to 38th St –Current road width is sufficiently wide to stripe 5’ on-street bike lanes.
11. 5th Ave S – 25th St to 21st St – 2-lane road section with Sharrows.
12. 21st St – 1st Ave S to 5th Ave S - 2-lane road section with Sharrows.
13. 1st Ave S – 4th St to University Drive - 2-lane road section with Sharrows.
14. Elm St – 15th Ave N to Edgewood Golf Course Road – Between 15th and Edgewood, we’d restripe to move centerline skips to crown of road and stripe sharrows along the gutter lines.
15. 4th St – 1st Ave N to 9th Ave N – Plan is to turn the street into a 3-lane section with 5’ bike lanes on each side. We would create a center left turn lane and the bikes would have a place to ride. We will add sharrows to 4th St from 9th Ave N to 12th Ave N.
16. 25th St – 58th Ave S to 73rd Ave S – new 3-lane roadway with striped 6’ bike lanes on each side.
