WDAY-TV is affiliated with WDAZ-TV in Grand Forks, ND and is part of the Fargo DMA (Designated Market Area), consisting of 35 counties that have approximately 217,500 households.
WDAY and WDAZ broadcast from separate towers/transmitters within the Fargo DMA. This allows each station to break down the DMA into separate trade areas which include the Fargo Trade Area (WDAY) and the Grand Forks Trade Area (WDAZ).
The Fargo Trade area (WDAY) reaches the southern portion of the DMA serving an 18 county region with approximately 135,500 television households.
The Grand Forks Trade area (WDAZ) reaches the northern portion of the DMA serving a 17 county region with approximately 82,000 television households.
Two towers/transmitters allow WDAY/WDAZ to cover the entire DMA while each station concentrates on its specific region's news, weather, and sports. Advertisers have the advantage of targeting the entire DMA or narrowing the market to reach a specific trade area.

WDAY Television has an in-house full service production department.
The Fargo-Moorhead Advertising Federation has awarded WDAY's production department with numerous ADDY Awards for commercials and promotional videos produced by WDAY's creative staff.
