FARGO — Forum Communications Co., which owns The Forum, has filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court alleging that the author of a book on NFL quarterback Carson Wentz and the book’s publisher used copyrighted photographs of Wentz without the consent of Forum Communications.

The suit alleges that the book, “Carson Wentz: a Beacon Biography,” written by Peter DiPrimio and published by Purple Toad Publishing Inc., used two original photos of Wentz, a quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles and a former North Dakota State University football standout, that are owned by Forum Communications.

The suit asks that the defendants be stopped from using the images and seeks unspecified damages.

An answer to the suit has not yet been filed. A phone message left at the office of Purple Toad Publishing in Pennsylvania was not immediately returned Thursday, Aug. 23.
