Mosquito pool in Grand Forks tests positive for West Nile

GRAND FORKS N.D.—Officials in greater Grand Forks have a warning for you.

A pool of mosquitoes tested positive for the West Nile Virus Wednesday, June 13.

They now want you to take extra measures to protect yourself from mosquito bites.

The Health Department recommends the following protective measures...

• Use insect repellent that contains DEET.

• Limit outdoor activities between dusk and dawn when mosquitoes are most active.

• Wear pants and long-sleeved shirts when possible.

• Eliminate standing water around your home.
