Pedestrians hit by truck during ND Winter Show
VALLEY CITY, ND - Two pedestrians are recovering after a pickup involved in the ND Winter Show pickup pull event went through a wall, striking them on the east concourse.
North Dakota Highway Patrol says it happened around 9:15 Tuesday night, when a 2004 Dodge pickup, pulling a skid vehicle, attempted to make a pass while traveling from west to east across the main arena.
At the east side of the arena, the Dodge struck a large tire that was the buffer between the arena and the wall separating the concourse, according to authorities.
Two pedestrians, a 15-year-old female and a 33-year-old female were hit.
The 15-year-old was transported by Barnes County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital where she was treated and released. The 33-year-old refused treatment on scene.
Police say the driver of the Dodge was 19-year-old Nathan Bell of Gardner, ND. The driver of the skid vehicle was Hunter Henjum, 23, of Valley City.
The Barnes County Sheriff's Office, Valley City Police, Valley City Fire and Barnes County Ambulance all assisted in the incident.
