Kindred, Oak Grove advance to Region 1 girls semis

FARGO - The defending state champs did not mess around in its Region 1 opener.

Kindred took care of eighth seeded Hankinson 59-22, led by eighth grader Abby Duchscherer. 

Duchscherer, who had a star turn at last year's state tournament was the difference maker on Monday.

The Vikings improved to 17-4 and will earn a date with Oak Grove in the semifinals. 

The Grovers knocked off fourth seeded Enderlin, 54-48. 

Oak Grove was led by Kelyn Johnson's 18 points as they improved to 14-8 on the season.

Domenic is the Sports Director at WDAY. He comes to Fargo from WNCE-TV in Glens Falls, NY where he launched the sports department at the independent station. Before that, Domenic worked at WSTM, the NBC affiliate in Syracuse, NY as a photographer and live truck operator for over two years. He graduated from Oswego State University in 2002 with a degree in Broadcasting. Domenic hails from the lake effect snow capital of the world, Oswego, NY, he joined the WDAY Sports Department in September 2006.
