NDSU has a 'home run' day to start Early Signing Period
FARGO - North Dakota State added 24 players during the initial Early Signing Period for Division 1 football and head coach Chris Klieman says it was a "home run" kind of day.
The Bison hit North Dakota and Minnesota hard, adding fourteen players between the two states, including Marshall (MN) quarterback Trey Lance, considered one of the top players in the state.
NDSU also added two players that won individual player of the year awards, Kimberly (WI)'s DJ Stewart, who racked up 20 touchdowns in leading the Papermakers to another state title and Missouri's Jalen Sundell, an offensive lineman who took that top honor.
Klieman and his staff added some intriguing talent from the state of North Dakota, Shiloh Christian defensive end Bartholomew Ogbu and Watford City's Jadyn Ewing.
Ogbu has only played football for a couple of years after he emigrated to the United States, while Ewing, who was the North Dakota 2A player of the year, will go on a two year mission trip before beginning his college career.
