City Commissioners aim to spruce up Fargo with public art
FARGO—The City of Fargo hopes local artists can spruce up the area with public art.
At this Brown Bag discussion, city commissioners talked about the "Public Arts Master Plan."
It's still in early stages, but proposals for art and entertainment could come together, like Fargo Porchfest.
That's where your porch could become a music venue, at least temporarily.
The planning department says this is an opportunity to make our city better.
"What I have heard before with public art - is the success is people are talking about it. It isn't necessary that you love it or hate it, but that it stirs conversations," said Nicole Crutchfield, Planning Administrator.
City planners hope to introduce the ideas formally to City Commission around Christmas.
