Home building company donates $48,000 to Great Plains Food Bank
METRO—A home building company is giving to the Great Plains Food Bank Backpack Program.
Thomsen Homes presented a check for $48,000 to the food bank Monday morning.
The money will go to buy food for thousands of kids across the state who need food on the weekends.
But the donation did not stop at the check, employees also helped bag meals.
Their goal was to bag nearly 2,000.
The founder of the company says it was a good chance to get a up-close look at how the donation makes a difference.
"Being here today, even for myself - I mean, the staff being here and getting to see what those funds do is great. And even for me, it's great to see the tangible difference that we're making," said Chris Thomsen, Founder of Thomsen Homes.
Thomsen Homes will also match every donation to the Great Plains Food Bank during "Giving Tuesday."
