Severe Storms Possible Monday Afternoon and Evening

(WDAY-TV WDAZ-TV)  The weather system that produced severe thunderstorm damage in New Town, ND, Sunday evening, will set up over southeastern North Dakota and west-central Minnesota Monday afternoon and evening.  The Storm Prediction Center has placed this area in a "Slight Risk" area for severe storms.  This means a few scattered severe thunderstorms are likely somewhere within the yellow-shaded area.

Storms will likely form in the afternoon and will likely move toward the east or southeast during the afternoon and evening.  The stronger cells will be capable of damaging wind, large hail, and very heavy rain.

The storms are expected to move away from the region Monday night.  Sunshine is expected Tuesday.  But another round of strong storms is expected Wednesday before the weather pattern settles down.
