The last time the Super Bowl was played in Minneapolis was on January 26, 1992. The high temperature outside the Metrodome reached 26 degrees. No precipitation fell on the day of the game, but there was 10 inches of snow cover on the ground outside the dome. 

The coldest Super Bowl so far was in Pontiac, Michigan on January 24, 1982 with a high temperature of 16 degrees. Fortunately, this game was played in the Silverdome.

The coldest outside Super Bowl game took place in New Orleans, Louisiana (Tulane Stadium) on January 16, 1972. The high temperature was 43 degrees.

1973 and 2003 ties for the warmest Super Bowls. Both years the high temperature reached 82 degrees. 

The 2018 Super Bowl is in the running for the coldest Super Bowl on record. The forecast, mainly sunny skies and highs in the middle single digits.
