FARGO—An early morning traffic stop in Moorhead turned into a high speed chase in a stolen car.

53-year-old Nils Njus was pulled over at 2 o'clock Friday morning by the interstate near 8th street.

Njus drove off as officers were walking toward his car.

Speeds reached 100 miles per hour.

Njus left the car in the Triumph Church parking off the 20th street south interchange and ran.

Police searched inside and found meth.

They also found out the car was stolen from Milaca, Minnesota.

Police later learned the suspect was staying at a hotel in Fargo and arrested him.

Nijus faces charges of felony fleeing of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, fleeing and drug possession.
