Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-About two dozen Go Far members and volunteers went into Target with lists and $10,000 Thursday night and left with a trailer full of gifts for the needy at Churches United.

The team shopped for 12 families total of 53 people.

The Go Far Christmas Project took donations to pay for the gifts until Thursday, meeting its goal of $5,000 matched by the Fargo Marathon.

Items included everything from Spiderman themed toys for the kids to End Tables for a family preparing to leave the shelter.

Sue Knutson/Go Far Events: "When we've dropped off the gifts we've seen some of the homeless families are there and they're helping to bring the presents in and they're just so grateful and happy and there's tears of joy and it's just such a wonderful feeling to be able to do this for them."

The Fargo Running Company is also donating shoes to all 53 people.

The gifts will be wrapped and delivered this Saturday.
