Going to the fair? Don’t forget to bring your wallet
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The fair is here. And if you didn't make it out today, there are five more days to enjoy it.
But don't forget your wallet; the full fair experience could set you back a few dollars.
We are here on the merry-go-round which of course is one of the many rides out here this week.
We decided to take a look at what it might cost for one adult to get the full fair experience.
Getting your fill of the fair might take a little budgeting.
"I try saving up money, I put aside at least $20 every day,” says Josiah Agylei who saved up for the fair.
It starts right at the gate - admission is $8 for people 12 and up.
Once inside, you might set your sights on the midway's biggest attraction: the rides.
To spend the afternoon twirling and flipping around, you can pick up an unlimited ride pass for $30.
When you start to get a little dizzy, it might be time to check out some of the games.
Four tries at this one for $3 a pop and now you've spent $50.
"You get here and the games are like oh it's only $5, cheese curds here, rides there, it can really add up,” says Katie Welle who set a fair budget.
Now that you've worked up an appetite, take a stroll down to the concession stands.
A corn dog and cheese curds will set you back $10 and you might wash it down with a $5 lemonade.
Fortunately, if you want to end the night with a concert, that's free with gate admission.
At the end of the night, you're at a grand total of $65 for one person.
That's more than the budget Katie Welle set for her whole family.
"We decided to set a cap at $60 and we have actually a little to spare so I'm pleasantly surprised,” says Welle.
So, that was one day at the fair add 5 dollars more and you can get unlimited rides and admission with their mega pass.
That's $70 and available at Casey's General Store locations.
