Hawley, MN (WDAY TV)-Hawley schools is celebrating the completion of a $11.6 million renovation and expansion project.

A ribbon cutting was held Tuesday in front of the Elementary School, which features a new field house.

Additions and updates were done to both the high school and the elementary school, including new classrooms, a band room, and new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

The referendum was overwhelmingly approved 2-years ago.

Phil Jensen/Hawley Schools Superintendent: "89% is just unheard of but the Hawley community has always supported the school, they put education as a priority and it shows."
