Sentencing date set for woman who killed boyfriend in YouTube stunt

Formal sentencing is set to take place Wednesday for the woman who pulled the trigger during a YouTube stunt turned deadly.

20-year-old MonaLisa Perez pleaded guilty to manslaughter last December.

In June 2017, she shot and killed her boyfriend, Pedro Ruiz III, with a 50-caliber weapon.

The two thought a book he was holding over his chest would stop the bullet, and they recorded the whole thing to post online.

Her plea deal calls for her to serve 180 days behind bars and 10-years of supervised probation.

A judge has decided audio and visual media members will not be allowed to record.
