Kindred man charged with DUI, driving wrong way on I-94 after head-on crash
WEST FARGO — A Kindred man is charged with driving under the influence after traveling the wrong way on Interstate 94 and striking another vehicle head-on Thursday, March 1.
The North Dakota State Highway Patrol reports that Brad Samples, 32, was traveling eastbound in the westbound Kindred exit ramp 2 miles west of West Fargo. Shortly before 8 p.m., Samples' Dodge Stratus struck a Chevrolet Malibu driven by 19-year-old Alyx Schmitz, of Oakes, who was preparing to take the Kindred exit.
Schmitz was not injured in the head-on crash, but Samples was taken to Sanford Medical Center for treatment of possible injuries, according to the patrol.
Samples is charged with a DUI and driving the wrong way on a one-way road.
The crash remains under investigation.
