Fargo man gets two years in Moorhead robbery case
MOORHEAD — A Fargo man was sentenced Thursday, Jan. 18, in Clay County District Court to two years in prison for his role in a robbery that led to a shooting in south Moorhead last summer.
D'Angelo M. Brooks, 20, of Fargo, had earlier entered a guilty plea to one count of first-degree conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery.
In addition to the prison time, he was ordered to pay $210 in fees. He was given credit for having served 172 days.
The sentence matched closely one given to a co-defendant, Raekwon J. Thomas, 19, who also pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery.
According to Moorhead police and court records, the shooting took place the evening of July 25 near the 900 block of 37th Avenue South in Moorhead after a number of people who knew each other had gathered for a drug transaction. Three vehicles were believed to have been involved in the incident.
No one was injured, but one vehicle was damaged from gunfire.
