Dilworth police release identity of Moorhead man found dead at crash scene
DILWORTH – Authorities have released the identity of a Moorhead man who was found dead in a vehicle that crashed in Dilworth on Tuesday, Aug. 7.
Dale L. Tenderholt, 50, was the lone occupant of a vehicle that left the road and ended up in a ditch close to BNSF railroad property at the corner of Ninth Street Southwest and Fourth Avenue Southwest about 1:25 a.m. Tuesday, Dilworth police said.
Authorities were still working Thursday, Aug. 9, to determine a cause of death, according to Dilworth Police Chief Ty Sharpe.
Tenderholt was an engineer with BNSF railroad, according to an obituary.
Born in 1968 in Fergus Falls, Tenderholt grew up in Clay County and graduated from Barnesville High School in 1987.
His funeral is set for 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at Little Bethany Lutheran Church, 45216 100th Ave. in rural Barnesville. Burial will be at the church cemetery following the funeral.
Visitation is set for 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday.
