Fatal crash in central Minnesota

MAYWOOD, MINN. -- One person is dead after they were involved in a two vehicle crash on Highway 23 in central Minnesota.

According to a release by the Minnesota State Patrol, at 4:49 p.m. a 2011 Chevy Silverado was driving east on Highway 23 when a 2017 Chevy Traverse that was driving south on County Road 66 failed to stop at a stop sign and hit the Silverado on the side.

The driver of the Traverse, a 77 year old man from Foley, wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle with fatal injuries.

The driver of the Silverado was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with minor injuries.
