Two hurt in Otter Tail County crash; alcohol believed to be involved

OTTER TAIL COUNTY, Minn. — The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office says alcohol is believed to be a factor in a crash early Sunday, Nov. 26, that left two motorists with injuries.

Shortly before 2 a.m., 22-year-old Scott Hughes was leaving a home in Otter Tail County and failed to turn where the driveway met the road. The 2007 Toyota Tundra Hughes was driving went off the road and struck several trees, injuring him and his passenger 20-year-old Bailey Lynnes, the sheriff's office said.

Friends of Hughes and Lynnes took them both to Lake Region Medical Center in Fergus Falls. Hughes of Bismarck was later airlifted to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo with unknown injuries. Lynnes of Pelican Rapids, Minn., suffered minor injuries, the sheriff's office said.

The sheriff's office said no one has been cited in the crash, which is still under investigation.
