Surveillance video shows dramatic moment semi-truck tips, crashes on I-94
WEST FARGO – A semi overturned and crashed into another semi Thursday, June 15, on Interstate 94, forcing the closure of the highway for part of the morning.
About 9:10 a.m., emergency crews responded to a report of a semi that overturned on I-94 by Veterans Boulevard near the border of Fargo and West Fargo.
Authorities shut down the entire interstate in that area and diverted traffic to Veterans Boulevard. No one was hurt in the crash, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The eastbound lanes reopened about 11:30 a.m., and the westbound lanes reopened a short while after that.
According to a report from the state patrol:
A 2014 Kenworth truck hauling steel beams on a flatbed trailer was on the cloverleaf on-ramp to go eastbound when it overturned and sideswiped an eastbound 2012 Kenworth pulling a utility trailer.
The 2014 Kenworth, driven by Brent Boudreau, 27, of Winnipeg, obstructed lanes of traffic when it came to rest.
The 2012 Kenworth, driven by Michael Goldade, 41, of Bismarck, overturned on its right side and came to rest in the westbound lanes, obstructing lanes of travel. Its trailer was torn in half with the back against the overpass support structure.
