BURGLARY AT LARSON WELDING MACHINE COMPANY
We have been following breaking news this morning as Fargo police are investigating reports of a burglary at Larson Welding Machine Company.
Police responded to a report of a burglary in progress just after midnight along 1st Avenue North. WDAY News was the only crew on scene. We spoke with police who say a witness called them after they saw 30-year-old Zachary Payne break into the business. Officers arrested Payne a block away. He is currently being held in the Cass County Jail on charges of burglary and refusing to halt.
WOMAN ARRESTED FOR D.U.I. AFTER ROLLOVER CRASH
We got an update into our newsroom this morning about a rollover crash in Fargo.
The wreck happened just after 10:00 last night on 30th Avenue North, near McKinley Park. WDAY News was there last night, and we were told a mother and daughter walked away without injuries. Now, police tell us it was 22-year-old Jaelyn May driving drunk when she rolled her car, with a 4-year-old girl inside. She's now facing D.U.I. charges.
COMPOSER SURPRISED TO HEAR HER SONG PLAY DURING MISS AMERICA COMPETITION
A piano composer from Detroit Lakes was watching the Miss America pagent when she thought she heard something familiar.
Miss Idaho, Nina Forest, played 'Rhapsody Brillante' on Sunday as part of her talent segment. The song was composed by Melody Bober, a composer and music teacher in Detroit Lakes. Bober has written over 900 songs throughout her career, but says she loves writing rhapsodies, because they typically feature a range of moods, colors, and tones thoughout the music. Bober says many of her songs have been played at state-wide competitions, but never on such a national stage with millions of ears listening.
