Moorhead Schools still looking for more tutors
MOORHEAD Minn. -- More than a dozen tutors are still needed in Moorhead Schools for the upcoming school year.
Only 8 of the original 21 positions have been filled.
The tutors would help pre-k through 3rd grade learn crucial reading skills, along with math for students up to grade 8.
The district says that need is always there year after year.
If the positions aren't filled, the students won't get served the best they can.
"They really pull those students out one on one so that way they really get that focused attention that a lot of teachers aren't able to give because they don't have the time, and they don't have the resources to give," says Carolyn Griffin of MN Math and Reading Corps.
