FARGO—It was a special treat on Tuesday for a Fargo man who loves all things "helicopter."

Garrett Chaney got a summer surprise when his family and friends arranged for a visit to the hangar of Sanford AirMed.

Garrett is known to follow the coming and goings of the medical chopper when it takes off and lands at the hospital and so on Tuesday, flight medics, the pilot and others put out the welcome mat to Garrett.

He sat in the helicopter and had his picture taken with the crew.

"I think he is still in shock, he doesn't know what to think, this is a big dream come true for him," said Lori Morse, Garrett's Mom.

The crew awarded Garrett with his own medical helicopter pin.
