Hardware store able to sell live chicks due to a temporary change
UPDATE TO AN EARLIER STORY:
Pelican Rapids has changed its rules to temporarily allow Strand Hardware to sell chicks.
The hardware store owner, Matt Strand, met with the city on Tuesday.
Strand was upset when the city nixed his efforts to sell chicks in his store, because of a city ordinance.
Many in Pelican Rapids were also outraged by the chick ban.
At the meeting, the city council decided to create a temporary ordinance allowing for the sale of chicks, according to mayor Brent Frazier.
