WEST FARGO, N.D. — City officials here are changing how you park your car.

Public Works is working with the city commissioner to change the 72-hour parking rule currently in place.

City employees say people have been complaining about cars being parked beyond the time limit.

They're now trying to ban parking on days of street service between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

That would include garbage pick-up days and snow plowing.

City employees say the new rule would keep streets clean and efficient.

"Being able to have all the cars off the street will make it better for us to clean it for snow," says Public Works Director, Chris Brungardt. "We'll be able to get out there, get everything curb-to-curb, widen it out, and make everything the way it's supposed to be."

Public works officials hope to have the new rule in place by summer.
